Diamond Jubilee Fancy Dress competition

As part of the Rock's Jubilee celebrations the Rotary Club of Gibraltar hosted a Fancy Dress competition for children up to 12years old.The theme was African dress or animals. This was in order to conmemorate the fairytale story of Her Majesty, who in 1952 went up into Treetops Hotel in Kenya a Princess and came down a Queen.

All participants assembled in Casemates on 3rd June and met the Mayor of Gibraltar, Julio Alcantara together with Miss Gibraltar and a Princess. At 11:30am the participants, together with cheerleaders, cadets and Transitions Dance School and others paraded up Main Street. The Army and Air cadets pulled a water barrel and Rhona, the Rhino Bank and many people contributed to "Water Barrels for Africa", a Rotary project.
